Riedbergpass

Rising through the Allgäu Alps between Obermaiselstein and Balderschwang, the Riedbergpass is one of Germany’s highest paved mountain passes, reaching around 1,407 metres above sea level.

The road is known for its combination of tight hairpins, flowing bends and significant elevation changes, climbing through a dramatic landscape of alpine meadows, forests and rugged mountain slopes. For drivers and motorcyclists, the changing rhythm of the road makes it one of the more rewarding mountain routes in southern Germany.

As the road climbs higher, the scenery opens up and the character changes from forested valley roads to wide alpine landscapes — making the Riedbergpass as much about the journey and the views as the corners themselves.
